Protein (function)

Phenotype
The phenotype has not been analysed in detail. The phenotype analyses indicate a non-essential role during the complete life cycle. The mutant showed normal growth of the blood stages and normal production of gametocytes and ookinetes. The mutant could be transmitted by mosquitoes with oocyst and sporozoite production and prepatent period after mosquito bite that were comparable to those of wild type.  The mutant can be obtained from the Leiden Malaria Research Group.
